Great looking, high quality and mostly new clothing can be found at the thrift shops for a fraction of the cost. We have total buy-in from the kids, too. When given a choice of one item from a name brand department store or a dozen items of like quality from the thrift shop, they always go for the latter. With multiple growing children, it just makes good economic sense. Just last week, Rimma got 10 items for $31! Only underwear & shoes aren't worn second-hand.

We have a "chain" around our neighborhood with all the girls (ranging from 13 to 4). What a great way to save.
I grew up shopping second-hand as well, and no regrets there! Besides, it taught me to be thrifty in general and buy on sale when buying new.
I love thrift stores, too! Sometimes I can get brand items from so many different stores, all right there! I was just thinking of an adoption saving tip the other day (after I read one of your blogs) but now I can't remember what it was - when I do, I will e-mail you! :)
