Coming home, temporarily

Tonight, our sweetie Lizzie, will be boarding the overnight train to Kiev and boarding the plane bound for the US to stay with her family. Now that I think of it, she is actually on the train at this moment, being that Ukraine is a 9 hour time-zone difference. So, she's on her way and will get here at 10:30 pm on Friday night. We will get a glimpse of what our family will be like this summer.

Lizzie will be with us temporarily for 10 weeks this summer and will have to go back on the last day of August. No international incident here - she will have to return to be adopted by us, a process that we have already begun here in the States. The hope is that our SDA appointment coincides with her mid-January availability date. Ugh, another (the third) Ukraine winter adoption! Oh well, we will brave the temps again to bring our girl home!

Heidi talked with her on the phone this week and she was ecstatically happy. That reminded me of this picture from Rimma's adoption back in January & February. I know she is jumping for joy right about now!

This photo is PERFECT! I am so happy she will be home, even if for only a short time. January will come before she knows it, especially with this great break in between.
Praying that she and all of the kiddos and guardians have a safe trip to the US of A :)

We are very excited at our house for Karina's visit as well. I thought she and Lizzie would be on the same flight but I guess not because Mark is flying to NYC to meet her on Saturday and then flying to Austin. If Karina decides she wants to be adopted we may end up in Ukraine about the same time. We are waiting until she gets here before we send off for our I-600. It has been 2 years so it will be interesting to see all the dynamics.
Enjoy your reunion on Friday!! Rhonda & Mark

Mark may very well see her, she is on the flight to NYC, then she, her chaperone and four other kids board a flight to DEN. Let us know if he does get to meet her.

If she is on the flight landing at JFK on Saturday afternoon we will see her as well, since we are going to pick up Roma. I will keep an eye out for her!! Are you also hosting Oksana and her brother?? What a summer you will have!! We can't wait to see Roma again, but I'm sure the 10 weeks will fly by in the wink of an eye. Praying for safe travels for all and a wonderful summer!
