"Consideration postponed (01/11/2011)"
The website didn't say when it was postponed to or if it will come up again soon. We will query our sources and keep you posted on developments if any. What does this mean? Well, it's good news, but the vote is still out there. So far, we are still a go for Lizzie's adoption and we are headed out still on the 22nd of January.
Stay tuned!

Should be great news as it suggests to me that they talked about it and then decided not to vote similar to how they have done with other bills. I wonder if/how bill 0201 fits into this whole deal? I think this also is the last plenary session of the whole legislative session so you guys should be home free?

I hadn't seen this before but it was really useful. I'm impressed they keep such detail. Time is recorded down to the second.
Will be praying for you guys!
Let us know what you find out. I have e-mailed our facilitator also. For the sake of all the waiting children and families, I wish they would just reject it and quit postponing the vote. But then again postponing is better than passing it. Praying for hearts to be changed as we wait.
Please do keep us posted, and we'll keep praying! As long as the door is open, we keep running ahead, right?
Thank God! You're in our prayers. And thanks for the update--didn't go on the Rada website and was unable to find out any information.

@Marti: They seem to keep near real-time updates on the system. A couple hours after they the lunch break they postponed a whole mess of bills. They actually record time in seconds on how much they spent on the bill. This one was precisely 40 seconds... probably just enough to record it being postponed.
But either way, postpone is better than approve... and I think you are right about this being the last session. No idea when they start again.
And we continue to pray...
Felix (or, as we more fondly know you, Phil ;-) and Heidi — sounds like you are in the throes of preparing for the trip — totally understand if meeting up this Sunday doesn't work for you. Let me know.
God's plan will prevail — no matter what! We're praying for you and a successful trip to bring Lizzie home!

The Bill changed status for the first time since the first vote.
Consideration deferred
Consideration postponed (01/11/2011)
Don't see how that can be read as a bad thing :)
Go team Roge!
wu-who!!!

We have been here long enough to see it postponed 3 times but Praise God we are going home on Monday.
@Brian, I do like the transcripts and the detail that is available. I was watching it minute by minute last time and noticed that at times, they would be considering a bill for more than half an hour before changing the status to "consideration postponed". This one happened quick. I know from a friend that the audio is available as well and I am trying to hear back from her to see what else is available and what additional info, if any, we can gather from this status. I have also asked her when the next session will start, what exactly that means, etc. I will share on my blog when I get a response. The good news is my friend is a third year law student very much interested in adoption law. The bad news is that she is a third year law school student in Ukraine and is therefore very busy.
My comment is sort of misplaced. I saw a link to your blog in another blog. I am interested in reading about adoptions in Ukraine. I am most interested in your story because part of it is so similar to ours. We adopted a boy from Southern Ukraine, formerly named Mykola, the Ukrainian version of Nikolai or Nicholas. We changed our son's name to Nikoli but kept his nickname and Anglosized it to Kole. He had just turned 9 when we adopted him. I started him in first grade for a month, and he is now in third grade and making mostly A's and B's. He will be with us two years in March and is absolutely a part of our larger family. Congratulations to you on your continuing journey.
Jefferson,
I agree, we have a very like story. Our boy, too, was Mykola, changed to Nikolai, and Americanized to Kole. He too was 9 yrs old when he came home. Welcome to our adventure...we leave 3 days!
