Moratorium postponed

Here's the skinny...

Ukrainian parliament POSTPONED THE VOTING on introduction of moratorium on international adoptions based on request of Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports, which sent a letter to Head of Parliament stating they need more time to prepare the proper language as to moratorium and... align accompanying legislation. No new date on voting was discussed. Usually, several months pass before parliament will return to this issue.

We all can breathe a sign of relief for a little while longer.

This is a great relief for now... I have been up since 2am worrying about it, when I should have known that me worrying would do nothing...
Heres hoping this is the end of the worry for awhile, and that many kids will find families in the meantime

I, too, have been praying all day about this. Thank God! (or, more appropriately, Slava Bogu!)

Yay, yay, yay! At the same time, I truly hope the US will start working on the agreement that Israel already signed and not wait for the time when the bill will eventually pass.

Can anyone explain what this letter states and what it is that UA wants to solve? Why isn't the Hauge agreement enough? Did they even ratify the Hauge agreement yet? Why isn't the Interpol check enough?

I'm willing to comply with anything that safeguards the children, But UA likes to stop adoptions while they implement new rules.
