Have duct tape, will travel!

Yesterday, I looked at all the things that my honey, Heidi, has planned to take on the trip. We will be packing light as we did back in April, so it's not a lot of "stuff". However, one of the items I saw was a roll of duct tape, or "Ukrainian Chrome" as I like to call it. Before I engaged my brain, I put my mouth in gear by saying, "What in the world do we need to take duct tape for?" Yes, guys, I let you down. My sweetie had already deduced that there are many needs for duct tape. You can make a hat, a broach, a shelter, a clothes line, a wallet, and many more useful things when you are too scared and intimidated to wander down to the Ukrainian version of Walmart, Foxmart! I was quickly reminded that with my Swiss-army knife, a leatherman, and a roll of duct tape...anything was possible. See, I'm not without skills!

Feel free to comment on your possible duct tape uses.

My dad and uncle always said they wouldn't go on our camping trips without duct tape and bailing wire. I know those handy-dandy items got us through a lot of jams...and I don't even know about them all. Hey, I was a kid at the time! :-)

there is a scholarship for students called "Stuck at Prom". http://www.ducktapeclub.com/contests/prom/
Just make a dress and suit out of duck tape, submit the photo and you could win money for college! Ha ha ha. Look, I have already figured out how to pay for the kids college. Start them off young with duck tape.

It wasn't until I was 12 years old that I figured out it is duct tape, not DUCK tape! I never understood why ducks needed taping!

I love the tag line on the duct tape picture! Since the Ukrainian apartments can be drafty I suppose there will be cracks and windows to fix, hot water pipes to close, sinks to stop, cracked car seats to repair while riding with cabbies, cash to strap to your body...

We adopted from Ukraine this summer. One apartment we were staying in had a seriously sharp corner just at the eye level of our youngest. The foam cushioning came off and with the duct tape we were able to put it back up and even have it match the sink.....

I brought plastic bags to carry other items. They became very useful and when one ripped I duct taped it back together and kept using it....

yup there are tons of uses for duct tape.....

Good luck
